What is a Cover Letter

A cover letter is a short, personalized document that you send with your resume when applying for a job. It introduces you to the employer, explains why you're interested in the position, and highlights your most relevant skills and experiences. A strong cover letter helps make your application stand out by showing how you're a great fit for the role.

"I’m excited to apply for the [Job Title] position at [Company Name]. I believe I’d be a great fit because I’m a hard worker, a fast learner, and I enjoy working with others. In my past experience, I’ve developed strong [insert one or two skills, e.g., communication and teamwork skills], and I’m always eager to grow and take on new challenges. I’d be grateful for the opportunity to contribute to your team and learn more about this role."

This is a short and easy-to-use cover letter. It’s just one paragraph long and helps you share who you are, why you want the job, and what you’re good at.

You can use this when a full cover letter isn’t required—like when you’re applying online or sending an email to introduce yourself. It’s a simple way to make a good first impression and show your interest in the job.
